Western Wayne is a group of plumbing contractors, with
businesses in the Western suburbs of Detroit. We meet monthly between September
and June of each year. Each month we have an educational program with a variety
of topics. Those topics can range from the latest tools, the newest products,
customer service, insurance, basic business accounting, training for owners, and
technician training. Our training covers the current areas our members and their
employees need help with. These have included Asbestos Awareness, Code Updates,
Certification for new piping systems, and Customer Service.
Our purpose is
to improve the businesses of each member while providing a variety of social
activities. Those activities can include a Dinner-Dance, Picnic, Golf Outing,
Holiday Party, and Field trips to mention a few. But we also give back to our
community with our annual Richter Day, where we gather together to help the less
fortunate by providing free plumbing, heating, and remodeling. Annually we
gather toys and funds which are donated to needy groups in our communities. Our
members vary in size from one person operations to companies employing dozens of
technicians and office staff. The types of work our members do covers the entire
spectrum of plumbing, from small repairs to large school and commercial
projects.
